Plate transfer - MOT cert needed?
Discussion
Just got another car and need to transfer a plate over to it, am going to dvla office tomorrow.
Do you still need an actual MOT cert in hand?
I didn't get a certificate with the car, owner couldn't find it, it is mot'd
Can I transfer it over without this cert, I have just printed out the info explaining MOT info from DVLA site, would this do?

Take the V5 to an MOT Test centre, hand them a tenner, they re-print one for you. If there are any issues, VOSA will give you the test number which will give the MOTer everything he needs.Do you still need an actual MOT cert in hand?

How do I know all this? I am in exactly the same position as you, but the plate is coming off to be given to the old owner. The MOT cert was lost in the post.
