Insurance is weird !
Discussion
How is it our people carrier costs more to insure than my 300 bhp convertible, everything is the same but 450 renewal for Ford Galaxy versus 300 for Nissan 350Z, the Datsun doesnt have any NCD applied, its on another car, so if I had put it on it would be 195, so the Galaxy is two and a bit times dearer.
Not complaining really, as they are good prices but seems a bit the wrong way round, I guess Galaxies must have more claims ?
So, top tip, to save money, but a three and a half litre, six cylinder two seater*

7 potentially injured people in a Galaxy...
Also used as minicabs quite often, and I bet those are subject to quite a lot of claims.Magic919 said:
It's all those really angry, neutered blokes driving the Mum buses.
Not sure where this comes from, I quite like driving it occasionally, doesnt make me angry in the slightest, it lives on the path and rarely moves but it is quite useful so it stays for now.Every time a people carrier is mentioned someone pipes up about angry, middle ages blokes who have given up on life, its all a bit predictable, not sure how a premium SUV or whatever avoids being neutered, all big dieselly things generally go in one category for me, and most of those have auto boxes, to me they are generally even more tedious than an MPV but I do realise people have them to do a job.

It comes from experience on the road. But like those Mitsubishi pickup things, not _all_ the drivers are actually bonkers.
Hmm, I think you may be right if you hav made that observation, there does seem to be a certain attitude with *some* drivers of Warriors, Raging Bulls and the like.In fact with those names, it isnt suprising, they also have The "Animal" and no doubt others, they should rename them the Nissan "Ickle Fwuffy Kitten" and Mitsubishi "New born Lamb" in a bid to rid them of th stereotype but I expect them to go more agressive, perhaps a Grand Theft Auto tie in or the Toyota "Lazer eyed Shark utter b
d" edition or something.ging84 said:

would you rather be financially liable for someone's damages with a s
t car they don't care about or one they love ?
I think that is a bit of a generalisation, I know a guy who is the worlds biiggest Ford Galaxy fan, he loves his and knows everything about it, to him it is the best car out there, he cant understand why anyone wouldnt want one, and there is a 350Z in our car park at work that looks very unloved. As a rule you are probably rught but there is no way a Galaxy is sford galaxy = s

t, its a good car, it just does a job that isnt very glamorous or cool, its miles better at taking stuff to the tip than the 350Z which to be fair cant hold a full weeks shopping.I suspect it may well be claims figures, in fact it is the only car of ours I have bumped, dont think the whole thing is down to my minor reversing trauma though.

Utter crap.ford galaxy = s
t carwould you rather be financially liable for someone's damages with a s
t car they don't care about or one they love ?Both decent cars but built for totally different purposes.
I agree the premium difference is most likely due to personal injury claim risk, and the Galaxy is a popular minicab choice so lots of relevant claim history with them I suspect.
I bet far more Galaxies are crashed, resulting in large multiple injury claims, than with 350z`s by a massive margin.
