Arranburgring?

We're all familiar with the Nurburgring stickers seen on many cars - whether or not their owner has taken the car round the circuit - but today I came across what I can only describe as a "Arranburgring" sticker - an outline of the Island of Arran in the Clyde in the style of the Nurburgring sticker.

Has anyone heard or seen this? Arran does have fantastic roads!

My sister lives on the Isle of Arran and I have driven around the "Arranburgring" a number of times. I find that the roads are too narrow to be able to get up much speed.

Empty roads and no police is a recipe for hooliganism, hence the growing popularity of the Arranburgring!

My good mate lives on Arran and says it's so under-policed that most of the young lads have built their own rally cars of sorts - old golfs etc, stripped out, bucket and harness in and when night comes they get out and have their fun.

My abiding memory of Arran was a holiday many years ago with a mate. We were staying in a caravan at Whiting Bay. Highpoint of the holiday (apart from the tasty young lady in the local shop) was a local with a T150V Triumph Trident who spent the evenings hooning about the local roads. We thought it was a Stratos when we first heard it...

Not the fastest of roads but the ferry trip makes it a bit of an "event".
