I replaced a rear cracked rim recently on my 335i. I ordered style 287 when I actually had style 189. They look absolutely identical bar the fact that the 287 has a 2mm larger offset.

My mistake and the rim has been on the car for a couple of weeks now.

So now one of my rears has a 37mm offset, and the other side has a 39mm offset - am I going to encounter problems?

It's probably not life or death, but I don't suppose it'll be doing the car any good, let alone the handling.

Not exactly ideal, and it might do something odd to the handling which you won't notice until the very moment you need it to be predictable.

Could it cause any damage to wheel hubs etc?

2mm doesn't sound a lot and I would hate to have to buy another new rim unless it's necessary

You could fit a 2mm spacer to one side even the wheels up.

You may be able to have one wheel machined 2mm.
Sometimes the only difference on offset is the final machining. It may not be true in your case, but it would be the best result.

I would just fit a 2mm spacer to bring the new wheel back out to where it 'should' be.
