Really tempted by this car:

4 doors
40mpg
355 bhp
0-60 in 4.5 secs
Big boot

On paper this car really ticks the boxes as a family car with space in rear for small people.

Just cant find any information online about anyone in the UK test driving one!

Anyone here had a go?

They aren't out yet are they?

I'd imagine it'll drive much the same as the A45AMG, since it's broadly the same car with a boot stuck on the back. smile

Have you seen one yet? they ain't a looker! look much better in the pictures. the A class looks far better in AMG spec IMHO.

I'm sure you won't be disappointed driving wise either way though.

Not seen one on the road yet, and the merc site doesnt even list them, yet you can order it through drive the deal!

Bizarre set of circumstances that one!

I love the mini CLS look about it.

I've seen a CLA in the metal. It's horrific.

A45AMG which came bottom of the current CAR magazine test which had exotica down to the Fiesta ST. it was voted bottom by all of the CAR staff.

I saw one on the M40 North yesterday... travelling at a fair old lick (100+).

Looked pretty good except for the ridiculously rubbish/tacky spoiler stuck on the top of the hatch.

Edit... sorry, misread, not a CLA, a regular A45AMG!

In your opinion.

I've also seen the CLA AMG in the metal - I think it's fantastic.

Seriously, have a look at any CLA in the flesh first.

They are planet-obliteratingly ugly. The back end is so hideous it's almost an achievement.

i actually like the back end as is not the standard euro-rump you get ... but each to their own on that one.

so in short... no-one driven one yet?

hmm....

I don't like to put a downer on cars I haven't driven, but I have no option but to whole-heartedly agree with this statement.

Have to agree... One overtook me on the motorway this weekend - I had to do a double take when I saw that it was a Merc. The rear quarters on it look ridiculous!

My my, the rear three quarter and the front three quarter views make it look like its broken it's back....Not a looker. More than this it seems to me that the pop bang nature of the mechanicals (as I have read on PH) would suit a hatch back rather better. Unless it looked more like an Evo 6/7/8..

Just my opinion of course. I am sure from the inside it might make a great car..

What I find oddest about the CLA _in general_ is that it's the size of a C-Class.

I appreciate a hot C-Class is a lot more expensive than this but I know what I'd have if - I wanted a fast saloon.

I thought I'd love it too, and I did love it, even had the picture as my wall paper. But then while in Germany last week I saw loads of them and the rear just doesnt work at all, on any level. It's not a mini CLS as it just doesn't pull off that shape at all.

I guess you'll see for yourself. I'm just speaking from first hand experience here.

I actually really like the way it looks, but then again I don't mind the new 1 series either, or the X6... getmecoat

Such a subjective topic though that it's not really worth discussing.
