Hi all.

I've been living in Milton Keynes for a while now and I notice that the big name petrol stations, especially those with digital readouts on the forecourt, seem to vary their prices during times of day and days of the week - being cheapest late in the evening and on the weekend.

I don't need a degree in economics to tell me why this is probably happening, but is it a regular thing across the country? I saw the Shell at Broughton down to £1.329 a litre on Sunday evening, I think that's a new record for me!

Ah, thanks for the info, Matt. I've been out of the country so wasn't aware of that. Good news though.

Asda round the corner from me is asking £1.287/litre, Tesco £1.292, seems there are some advantages to living in the city.

You should see the nationwide variation of LPG - and I'm not talking silly way out in the sticks variation. I pay 59p I've seen 79.9. that's 20p variation, of the equivalent of 40p difference in in petrol. If that was reflected in petrol prices there would be an uproar.

I'm surprised they would change it several times in a day, I remember when I worked in fuel, you had to close the forecourt and make sure no one was filling when you changed the price or the system and customers bill would go tits up!
