Was just browsing a recent copy of Autocar and there was a concept car, think it was a Renault and what struck me is that it was purple, a proper 1970s Velvet trouser purple, not Mauve or reddish blue, not some form of burgundy, a proper unapologetic purple, not sure of any manufacturers that have a current purple in the range, my mum had a Purple Marina back in the early eighties and I saw a Merc SLS the other day in Matte Purple and it looked like something from another world, fantastic, some kind of wrap which normally I turn my nose up at but it looked awesome.

SO, lets have your purple car pics, old or new and support for this under used fantastic colour.

Audi do a very nice individual option purple. Quite often see an a5 sports touring thingy in this colour and wish more people would choose it

Ex currently has an IQ3 in "Amethyst"...it's purple. My old DB4 was "Roman Purple". One of my Citroen XMs was "Rouge Mandarin" (purple).

Have I cornered the market?

Yes, I know thats what it is called but as a colour, most of the population would say Purple, Magenta is usually more of a Pink than the Triumph hue.

Edit, and need photos of the TVR please.....

Ta. When I bought it I went looking for a car that wasn't silver.

I love that. Volvo porn.

Definitely not enough proper purple cars around.
I suspect a lot of it is people just playing it safe and going for easy resale colors, I'd pay a bit more for something with paint as nice as that ^^^ but I suspect I'm in a tiny minority.
