'Race Track' in a Field Next to the M40!
Discussion
Next to the northbound carriageway of the M40, just south of Warwick services, there is a mud/dirt track. Pass it regularly and occasionally see a few campers/trucks there on a Friday or Monday but I don't generally go that way at the weekend when presumably there is some sort of racing on. Its a narrow tight track, so I was guessing lawnmower racing.
Anyone know?

Possibly something to do with Gaydon, Aston Martin, Land Rover or Museum? - https://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=m40&ll=52.187...
It's a moto cross track, been built in the last year or so, they've got it pretty nice now and expanded it steadily. It's nicely marked off and the sheep keep the outside down. Good on them, there's fewer and fewer mx tracks now, a side effect of the euro small farms subsidy policy that doesn't allow any form of Motorsport even private use, on land that forms part of a farm claiming the subsidy. Or so I am told by local farmer palmers.

Ah that makes sense. Thought it was a bit flat for a motocross track, saw the dozers in there the other day, but haven't noticed the jumps going in. Will have a look tonight!
Definitely a good thing, I used to ride a lot of motocross when I was a teenager, but it became harder and harder to find a suitable 'legal' location. A good introduction into bike-craft IMO without the worries of being t
tted by a bus!
