I hope this doesn't contravene any rules. I'm not trying to sell my car here, just asking for advice on how to sell it.

Unfortunately after getting married and buying a house all within the space of a month we need to sell our SLC 350. This one to be precise:

The problem being it's left hand drive, registered on German plates, currently resides in Germany, and we live in Hampshire. We have had it advertised on German websites for two months but without a hit. I am sure it is not overpriced. We have directed phonecalls to a German trader who is kindly storing/selling the car for us. Currently he is not charging (although he will take a percentage of the sell on fee) but I'm not sure how long this will continue for. He has a small workshop and a relatively quick turn around of low spec cheaper cars. Because of the spec of the car I have yet to advertise it in the UK (other than a free, rarely visited site) as I don't expect it to sell over here. Or would it? It is worth taking the hit and paying for the usual advertising sites over here (PH first of course!)? I imagine potential UK buyers would not be keen on trekking to Southern Germany for a test drive, nor would we be keen on bringing it over for a potential viewing.

I guess I'm looking for any advice on selling a foreign car. It is most frustrating not being able to directly influence the sale being so far away and being unsure of the sellers selling credentials (we paid for professional pictures as his original for sale ones were dire). Has anyone successfully done this before? All help/advice most welcomed.

I have read that left hookers don't necessarily take the same hit as you might think in this country. People from the continent or those who travel to the continent buy them.

All here-say so needs checking, but if you could sell it here might be worth fetching back.

I'm surprised no-one has snapped your arm off for it.....I'd have it in an instant, if only I didn't have an other half who wouldn't be so enamoured at it's arrival.....

Interesting thought. I guess we're not too far from the usual departure hubs to Europe so worth considering.
