I've been looking for a more up to date runabout for winter, to replace the K11 Micra.

Priorities are cheap to run, good warranty and comfortable as I'll be keeping it for a good few years.

I'd seen a Chevrolet Aveo, and the reviews for it look good. A couple of the reviews also mentioned about it having a 5 year warranty which appeals. However, when I look on their website it only mentions 3 years / 60k miles.

Does anyone know whether there was ever a 5 year warranty and if so, what happened? Seems a funny to-do if they have reduced their warranty term?

Other cars I'm looking at are the Skoda CitiGo, Hyundai i20, Suzuki Swift and Toyota Aygo. Budget is up to £8.5k.

Thanks.
