Bought an Exeo today

Quite excited about this.
£9500 for a 2011 model 143ps SE Tech Saloon from a main dealer.
Took a while to decide what to go for, eventually ruled these out:
Audi TT - Beautiful yet just too extravagant as a daily commuter.
Octavia vRS - Tempted with 200BHP of electric blue loveliness, but not enough toys and perhaps a little too costly on fuel.
Superb TDi CR 170ps Elegance - Loads of kit but overall just too big and too 'senior'. Came very close to buying one.
Lexus IS220 - Put off by the high gearing problem and the cost of a used one compared to what I've bought.
Nissan Leaf - Yes, I know, but it might have worked. I do a 30 mile commute and 60 miles per day is the ideal usage. At £12k new I'd have been all over one, but at £16,800 I could never have come close to saving enough fuel to justify the cost.
Mini Cooper S - Fancied one until I walked past the dealership. Just too 'young' for a 49 year old.
Golf 2.0 GT - Petrol or diesel, I was tempted, but they seem VERY expensive and don't have much kit.
Leon 2.0 FR - I think these are petrol or diesel as well, but I didn't like the look of the interior.
I think my decision came down to wanting something between a quick Octavia and a well-equipped Superb. The Exeo seems to be well regarded by almost all owners and at £9500 for a 2011 vehicle I couldn't find another car that came close in terms of running costs, equipment and owner satisfaction. I know it will depreciate quickly, and if I'd spent £15k on one then that would be a worry. However, I'm expecting to keep it for around 5 years and having not paid too much money in the first place I don't regard depreciation as an issue.
So now it's time to get the Fabia serviced and advertised for sale...

Toys count?
Pretty much everything a man might like except for heated seats and a cigar trimmer. It's almost impossible to find a car with heated seats as standard these days.
My soon-to-be-sold Fabia has them, as did all Elegance models in the Mk1 Fabia range.
Cruise
Leather
SatNav
Bose Sound
Armrests
Park Assist thingy
Climate Control
Auto Wipers
Electric windows all round
etc...
In truth I'd have liked the tinted windows of the Sport Tech, but then you get 18" rims and a harder ride. I'd also have liked Xenons but they came in after a facelift and you're looking at a lot more money.

I have the exact same model
New 12 months ago, just clicked over 42k miles - nothing has broken, fallen off
Just had the one service, still on original pads / discs, only on second set of tyres
Economy seems to have settled at about 54mpg
Not an exciting car but as a well equipped, comfortable mile muncher its proving superb

Blimey. Someone's busy grafting, with all those miles in a year
I see one of these regularly on the A1. Always wondered what the appeal is. Seems like it's just a well built nice place to be. Like John Lewis.
It's a company car. Could have had something with a more prestigious badge but to be honest the Exeo just seemed very fit for purposeI see one of these regularly on the A1. Always wondered what the appeal is. Seems like it's just a well built nice place to be. Like John Lewis.
Much better handling car than when it ad an Audi badge, apparently Seat made lots of detail changes to the setup before launching it
