Anyone ever built a bike engined quad?
Discussion
Hi guys,
Basically as the title says, has anyone ever converted a quad to use a motorcycle engine? A few months ago I bought a Yamaha Banshee with what turned out to be a duff engine.
The parts it needs to fix I can only seem to source from the US and look like they're gonna end up costing 4/500 quid!
I've been offered a GPZ500 for the same price which I know to be a good runner, like the banshee the GPZ is a twin which makes firing in the engine a bit easier (maybe)
So does anyone know how easy/hard it would be? Or if it would be worth the whole hog and getting a GSXR etc engine to save me getting bored of it?

Rebuild the banshee engine, used to have one and there is no better sounding quad when the banshee is living up to its name.
Is it road legal or do you go off-road?
Don't think the motorbike engine would last up to the off-road vibrations
Enjoy whatever you choose the banshees are a lot of fun
