So I have been tasked with sorting the wedding cars for our wedding next year but need some inspiration a d recommendations.

I don't know what I would like. What would you have or what did you have for your wedding?

Not a lot of help but I used my Tuscan, but then had the bonus of not needing to go anywhere during the day as we had the wedding/reception at the same venue plus had rooms too.

Go on the dress size. She wont appreciate the dress getting crumpled or ruined if she has to squeeze into a smallback seat/ recaro bucket seat...

Its why limos are normally chosen: huge rear seat space and lots of legroom. Watch the bodywork too. Some are inelegent, some just ugly. We had a Daimler with Hooper coachwork which was lovely. I couldnt find a V12 lagonda with Frank Feeley bodywork, which was my ultimate choice

Jensen Interceptor MkIII, self drive for the father of the bride to deliver the bride smile.

I didn't need one as I stayed at the venue the night before.

In hindsight the Jensen was a bit more hassle than it was worth as it was added stress for the FIL as he had to worry about getting the venue on time and he was worried about it starting up ok on the morning of the wedding. Still, it was different and we got some nice photos.

I chose a RR Phantom V - and felt like royalty!

In fact it looks like it's still available to hire here

Consider the dress and any arrival photos the big old square doored limos get chosen for a reason, photos are easier as the bride steps out rather than climbs out so less potential for wardrobe malfunctions etc.

Just read the small print in the hire documentation. lots of extras and fees and charges etc. Especially with expensive/classic cars. A proper shark industry if you're not eyes open. Not all like that obviously.... just be aware.

I saw some cod vintage car as a wedding car recently, think it was Transit based, so not one of those, think they do it to avoid the reliability issues with classics, we had a RR Silver Cloud which was very nice, my (new) wif was not best impressed at me mithering the driver about the car though !

I drove myself and one of my entourage in a supercharged Lotus Evora, my Dad drove my other best man and the ring bearer in a new L405 Range Rover (a week before it was released), and my wife turned up in a 1968 Pontiac GTO with a hugely expensive (pretty much drag spec) V8 in it. You could hear them coming from about 2 miles away!
Looked good in the pictures smile

We had a 190D Merc. They just took the "taxi" sign off the roof!

Mrs SWH turned up in the GTV.... and we drove away in my MGB smile

...getting in the MGB 2hrs earlier, me, the best man, rings safe, marquee all sorted, right then... click, click, oh st!

Thankfully parked on a small slope, and with a good shove, it started. Even better, for the rest of the day it started fine!

I'm getting married in a month. Wedding car to take us away from the church is a Toyota Hilux with a sofa in the back.

My wife had a Morris Minor soft top. Brilliant, lots of character, not flash and looks brilliant in the photos. I wouldn't want to own or drive one, but to sit in the back with the roof down for the 3 mile drive from the wedding to the reception was very nice.

You missed out MX5, lots of room for a meringue dress with the roof down.
