Brands Hatch Driving Experience Advice
Discussion
Hi there,
I was thinking of posting this in the 'Track Day' section, but it's not strictly about a track day so I'll try it here. Mods, please feel free to move it if it's in the wrong place.
A workmate has just turned 60, and we've had a collection for him and raised about £220. Now, I'm in charge of spending the money and want to get him a gift of a driving experience. Brands is his closest track so I've been looking at whats available there, but there's just too much choice, not to mention you never can tell how good any particular experience is.
So, I'm on here for recommendations. Does anyone have any experiences of the experiences? Who's good and who to avoid?
One option that springs to mind is the Caterham Drifting Experience, as that looks a lot of fun, but I'm open to other ideas.

The Caterham drifting is a lot of fun, only gently competitive and if you enjoy driving at all you will have a smile on your face.
Never done the rally course but have heard good things about it.
If you haven't been on a track before then the circuit courses will be a great experience but they can be very frustrating if you are used to track days etc. The single seaters are too small really if you are plump or much over 6ft and they are heavily restricted (and yet people still manage to spin them somehow). The BMW M3's are quite well suited to the track and if the instructor senses you are reasonably competent then you will get up to some sensible speeds and also learn the proper lines etc.
It all depends on what your experience and expectations are. It certainly isn't in the same league as a Palmersports day but then they aren't for everyone either...
