Afternoon Fellow Pistonheads.. Just joined up after reading various discussions over the years!

So the Wife's got a 2009 Ford Ka which we are thinking of selling to gain some money towards a deposit on a house. every little helps.
I'm in the trade but am far better at selling cars than buying, so what do you think would be a reliable'ish car for sub £1000?? difficualt i know but was thinking VW Golf 02/03 with reasonable miles adn good history..

any help wuould be great!

No point buying a Golf - you know as well as anyone that there's a premium on the badge. If you really want cheap motoring, go for a Ka, but an older one. So long as it's not rusty (check everywhere) it'll go on for ages.

Totally O/T but I'm sure I've heard more than one car dealer on here say that profit in the trade comes from buying right more than selling.

Sorry OP, doesn't help you.
