Selling a private number plate quickly?

[Original Poster]

Hi all,

My girlfriend has a private number plate and is getting a new car which she doesn't want the plate on (thankfully!).

How can we go about selling it? All the websites I've seen effectively list the plate on their website and once it's sold take a commission.

We're looking for a straight forward sale.

Any ideas?

Put it on retention, list it on eBay, 1p starting bid and no reserve, and it will go for what its worth.

Funny name for a girl but maybe I'm getting old.
