road tax refund question

i plan to sorn the car for november and want to cash in the tax disc

whats the deal with sending it in , is postmarked on the last few days of the month acceptable or should i send it early to make sures its there for the last day of october

They WILL lose it and deny all knowledge,take it into your local dvla office instead,theres no queues as everythings done by swansea/post office so theyll be glad to see someone!

Fill in the form, ensure it reaches before the first, I have never had them claim they have lost it, cheque usually arrives within a few weeks.

Nope plenty still open.
Our local one in Preston was empty and full of jobs wanted signs last week,poor buggers.
Always thought the local offices tried their best but were strangled by rules and swansea.

A real shame- I've used the Preston office and found them to be polite and genuinely helpful.

I have sent it off by post a few times and never had a problem. As long as it gets there before the end of the month they will refund whats left on it.
