Odd things other drivers do...
Discussion
I was stuck in traffic today so decided to use the time to rescue a road atlas that had fallen off the back seat. I took off my seatbelt, turned right round and retrieved it. Other drivers seemed to find the entire performance baffling.
However I was reminded of some of the odder things I've witnessed other people doing behind the wheel. Some quite nasty. The other day I overtook someone determinedly flossing her teeth at the wheel. She had one of those disposable floss holder things. I have one in my bathroom and wouldn't consider using it elsewhere as it causes food particles to fly about. Presumably she was spitting them on the floor? Horrid.
Further to that I saw someone else holding an object and fiddling about with it whilst driving. When I got alongside it turned out to be a toothbrush! They were brushing and driving quite happily.
I know Essex is the land of white teeth, but surely such wanton pursuit of oral hygiene is ridiculous....
Do other people indulge in such weird behaviour whilst on the move?

Get irritated by being overtaken. Today was a prime example of this on my way home from work. Some older chap in a Passat was sat at 35mph through a nice NSL stretch so I overtook him at the safest opportunity. Suddenly he is in my rear view mirror! I wouldn't say tailgating but he was adamant he was keeping up. If he wanted to do 60, why not do this in the first place? If he wanted to do 35 then why not stay there once I'd passed. Other than being a complete bellend I can't think of any reasoning behind it.

I have this happen quite a lot. Sometimes i think people dont notice that the 40 limit ended a mile back, and so they trundle along with a cloud of doubt and uncertainty hanging over them. Your overtake then confirms to them that it's now a 60, and having received your affirmation, they speed up.Not that i've really thought about it much or anything. Ahem.
