Odd Aston Martin?

Hi all

Just joined and thought i would share this. It appears to be an Aston Martin Vanquish but could anyone let me know what all the black tape over it is for?

The tape is securing wires from microphones located around the exhausts. It's testing. Other sensors appear to be located around the car as well.

Thanks for the reply thought it was a bit odd. Now for a stupid question what is it testing for, Electric to sound like a petrol.....?

Maybe 'drive by' sound tests to see if one component is noisier than it should be or tuning of the noise that it makes in general?

My first thought would be to record sounds for a publicity item? Maybe a smartphone app that has videos and sounds etc.

Could be wrong though

More likely just NVH testing or exhaust sound tuning.

Yup. Exhaust tuning most likely.
