Just saw this come up and it seems a steal for £3.5k maybe less if a group buy was involved.

280bhp and some extra torque in a car weighing 1250kg seems appealing esepcially as the cars get older and are available for circa £15k...

Now we're talking, 226bhp/ton makes this suddenly interesting.

so one of these with a supercharger costs less than a 370z?

Litchfield don't mess about. That'll be the car we all expected, although it would be an error not to upgrade the brakes and handling to suit.

Seems loads better value than the TRD pack, which is just an exhaust, bigger wheels and proper tyres. Now it is a really tempting choice for the price.

Also glad to hear that thebrz/gt86 is capable of a proper 0-60 time for its power/weight, Ive spent ages wondering how a car with exactly the same weight and power as the Renault sport clio 200 (old one) yet be around .5 secs slower to 60...

"especially as we found out earlier this summer that a standard BRZ will happily do 0-60mph in 6.7secs rather than the claimed 7.6secs".

From the information in that article it certainly seems like a well specified package - a decent power hike with none of the disadvantages of a turbocharger and some sensible complementary upgrades. No comment on whether the suspension is still compliant enough to be good for road use, though.

It is good value but you would have to look at the the other aspects of the car

Brakes
tyres
suspension

They do handling and performace pack so it would be about £6,000 this would mean you would be in 370z country

I would go for a test drive first to see what it is like it does look like a good bit of kit

I will not going for it because it is on finance and in 2 1/4 years Toyota will bring out the MK2 GT86 with more powersmile

I'd still rather have the GT86/BRZ with the SC kit and susp/braking upgrades. Then again, they would still be absolutely different cars.

Fitting and mapping would push it up to more like 6k I would think?

Plus the great toyota warranty will then be void which cant help resale values..

From another thread...

FTR, I just spoke to Litchfield Imports.
Install is not as bad as I'd feared at c. four hours labour -- however, -- they recommend the exhaust system which is c £1,500 on top.

So we're looking at £5.5k before adding the handling pack which is another £1k.
I think the novelty of skinny tyres would wear thin in short order with 280BHP so wheels and tyres will also be required; another £1,500-2,000?

Sounds bloody fantastic. One issue - does any of it come with any kind of warranty? What's to stop you ending up with a very expensive paperweight in 6 months?

Excellent. Be interesting to see a side by side comparison of this package and the Fenhurst turbo kit!

I'd imagine not, but Litchfield are damned good at what they do.
