Hi All < based in west london , need some help , can any one recomend , engine rebuilders , for a cam and head rebuild on a mk 1 GTI Golf ?

Im sure there was a VW specialist in Essex, but i cant think of the name.

…any half decent garage should be able to attend to your Golf -- the 8V engine is simplicity itself -- no special skills/tools required !

Edit to add:

wfarrell is right though, the 8v engine is so basic. I rebuilt the head on mine on the kitchen table with nothing more than a Haynes and a cup of tea for company. Very basic you just need valve spring compressor tool and a lapping stick for the valves. It is pretty easy if you fancy a little project.
