Aston V12 Vantage S: Time For Tea?

You read the story - now watch the video!

You've probably gathered that a) we've just driven the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S and b) rather liked both it and the Californian roads on which we drove it.

Leading to c) delving into the promo photos and other material supplied by Aston Martin and sharing this little vid with you. Yes, it's got a bit of cheesy music. But it's also got a decent amount of V12 blaring away, shows some of the amazing roads we were lucky enough to drive on and stars the very Flugplatz Blue car we put the PH beachtowel on as soon as we clapped eyes on it.

Anyway, hopefully you're not already Aston'd out; at the very least it'll brighten up your afternoon brew!

See here.

Shame about the music, I'd rather have just listened to the Aston..

Wonderful car but the video would have been so much better without the music. The Aston is music enough.

Who is heading up the marketing and branding of Aston and Mercedes at the moment? Aston with this mismatched promo and Mercedes with the terrible new E class advert with some fella in a flashing light jacket. Both just seem off target audience IMHO.

Is it me, or does this car just look really really dated? It feels like they are flogging a bit of a dead horse (mind you a good sounding if not great looking dead horse). When's the new model/design coming out?

Ha, love the background metal, sounds like 'Symphony X'.

Not suited to the video at all though!

The music is almost as distracting and ill-suited as the constant guitar shredding throughout the Weissman episode of 'How it's Made: Dream cars' on Discovery the other day.

Still, lovely car that's quite capable of makin its own wonderful music.

You weren't kidding about the music. I can just imagine Aston's target audience really appreciating that choice, too. On par in the cringe-worthy stakes as 'Dad dancing'.

Just over a minute yet the terrible music over the glorious sound of the V12 makes it almost unwatchable for me.

Can't help but think you would feel like a prize bell jockey pulling up in an Aston in that colour. All a bit fast and furious.

Music was crap too.

It's clearly for the American market.

Although even that lot won't like the video to be fair.

Blimey, it all went a bit "fast & Furious" there for a minute! At one point the car used, i think 23, gears to do about 100yards of road....... ;-)

Get rid of the "music." Seriously. Whoever produced the video doesn't quite get cars. These cars don't need music, they are music. Please re-edit without the music and repost.

Millions of times when there are videos of Spitfires, other aircraft, V8's and V12's on utoob people plead to have the stupid music taken off....so please take the stupid music off, so we can hear the car. Why oh why are Aston selling out to AMG. Within a couple of years they will be making badged Mercs rather than the automotive symphony that is an Aston V8 or V12. They could even go cap in hand to Jag then modify them.

My god what a absolutely shocking video from Aston Martin.

If you ask me, they could have learned a lot from this masterpiece from Top Gear a while back...
