Purchased a car privately and noticed after the first real clean that some of the glass has quite bad scratches in. You can feel them with you finger nail. Anybody know if this can be polished out or disguised?

Generally no, car glass is extremely hard and, unlike paint which can be polished, polishing usually does nothing.

Only options are put up with it or buy new glass panel unfortunately.

Normally if you can feel a scratch in the galss, it's too deep to polish out, but if you fancy a go, order some Jewellers rouge - It's the stuff that glass companies use for the job

Carpro Ceriglass is supposed to be good although you will have to use it with a machine and from what I understand its really hard work. Would suggest speaking to a local detailer.

Quite deep scratches can be polished out, but they are never perfect. My car had a deep scratch on the passenger window which has been polished out. You now only see it if you are looking for it, and it does look at bit "wavy". However, it's 100% better than the original scratch which was really obvious. I guess it all depends on the type of scratches, the number of them and which glass is scratched.

It was done by the guy who I bought it off (work colleague). I'll see if he can remember.
