Anyone still do this when in normal traffic or only when something else interesting is beside you?

Its like the negotiation before the race starts. Each car beating its chest who's the daddy then the pause the anticipation of the light change then WOT ending with the thumbs up between the two gladiators.

Slightly off topic but why do motorcyclists always do this? Not necessarily at lights just any time they are stationary. Do they all have twitches?

I find I can start a race just by approaching a set of lights quickly and braking hard. People therefore assume I'm a cock and try to out-cock me - it's great fun biggrin

What I'm getting at is I like stealth - not that easy in my P&J - an unassuming car just utterly goes and when it does it sounds glorious. Even better if it its popping in the over run

Actual reason - my car isn't properly warmed up yet but I'm too tight fisted to use the choke. Anyone whose car is not either a)running on carbs or b)broken doesn't need to do this.

You like it so much, you sometimes own things which don't even exist. Can't get much more stealthy than that.
