What car to buy with £4000
Discussion
Hi everyone, I've been a long time lurker around these parts and thought I should sign up the other day
I'm having a bit of a dilemma at the moment as to what car to buy, and was hoping I could get some advice.
I've got a max budget of £4000, I do about 500 miles a week on average, mostly motorway work from norfolk to devon.
Common sense says I go with a diesel, I've been looking at e46 330d's and e39 530d's at the moment. I'm at a loss as to what else I should look at so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Tom

Just because it's late and alcohol might be involved.

I'd get rid of that before you start getting chased from the forums with stakes and pitch forks! tom2502 said:
Utterly vile, wouldn't trust it as far s I could throw it. For that price you could get a near-mint one that hadn't been beaten with the chav stick.tom2502 said:
That's disgusting. Probably amongst the worst I've seen.homerjay said:

Surely maintenance costs (on the top 5 at least) would defeat the main object here?944 Turbo/S2

As with any car buy one with good history of work being carried out ie invoices not just a stamp in a book which may not be genuine.
Those top 5 are certainly fun cars and will be memorable
