Went to watch a game last night and parked my car a 10 min walk from the stadium. Not a particularly rough area or anything and next to a main road. Anyway, got back to the car with the missus at about 9 o'clock. Walked past 4 or 5 characters sat on a wall chatting on a corner, thought nothing of it. Anyway, got in the car, started the engine, locked the doors (as I usually do) and one of these guys comes running up to my car. He looked like he was going to ask me something, so I didn't move off for a second - but instead he walked right past my window and tried to get in the back door! I didn't hang around. Turned round and drove off before he could get in my way.

So much for parking my car in a safe place...

When I had my C-class Merc I dropped some friends of outside a pub and had a stranger jump in the back thinking I was a taxi!

Also a friend of mine oblivious to most things has jumped into the wrong car (just a random stationary one) while waiting for me to pick him up.

Happened to me and my mum waiting at a train station for my dad 30 od years ago. As much as I hate gun culture some times it would be good to wave one around.

Had a guy try and get in the Tuscan once. He was clearly a fan of the car as he instead walked around the front and licked the bonnet. I was on traffic at the time so not much I could do lol

Went to pick up my sister from the train station, a pretty girl jumped in and asked "are you Jamies brother?" I reply no, and she tells me she was waiting for a mazda sports-car. I had to explain to her that it wasn't a Mazda and she immediately went a bright red when she realised she got in the wrong car.

The problem with the chimaera is when they've figured out how to get in, it's impossible for them to get out.

I like to draw out the awkward tension. I'd smash her back doors in though...

Had this happen to me once picking some friends up from a night out in Manchester, from memory he said some place name, so I asked what he had said, when he repeated himself, I had to explain I wasn't a taxi, haha! I'm sure it's an easy mistake to make when you're worse for wear.

Double post fail. No idea why it does this.

I was waiting to pick my wife up and in jumps this big black fella, even put his seat belt on.

He hadn't looked at me at all whilst doing all this.

I just sat there looking at him and after a few moments he turned to look at me.

His face was priceless.

He realised he'd jumped into my silver TT and not his wife's silver TT biggrin

I've had the taxi approach plenty of times before! That's fair enough, but it was pretty clear to this guy I wasn't a taxi. He was sat some 25 yards from, and in full view of my parked car for a start! And I walked past him with my missus on the way back to the car, just seconds before. He must've seen me get in.

Dodgy as hell.

I got in a random car once thinking it was my minicab. A bit of confused mumbling from both myself and the driver and we were on our way. It was actually a minicab though and his very angry boss called him asking where on earth he was about the same time the company I booked the cab from called me to ask me where I was. Both seemed as angry as each other and both didn't take my logical suggestion to pair up my cab with the other person very well.

Luckily none of the many people in this thread who have made this innocent mistake have done so when guns were involved!

Had this happen to me once when I was 17 in my clio. I was parked outside the uni halls at the cowgate in Edinburgh waiting for my mate at about 11 at night.

As I'm sitting there this guy (about mid 20's) jumps in the front passenger seat and starts asking me where all the 'pussy' was.

He kept asking the same god damn question despite me telling him to get out until I started shouting 'get the fk out my fking car'. He then casually gets out an wanders off down the street.

Absolutely one of the weirdest experiences I've encountered.

While parked up at Tescos, I watched an old chap try and put his shopping in the wrong boot while the owner was still sitting in the drivers seat hehe

Admittedly both cars were the same model and colour, but was funny to watch nonetheless!

Used to get this all the time when driving around the West End at night in a 405 Diesel. Black cabs would try and drive me off the road as well.

Hmmm as said hate gun culture..... This was not a mistake it was a man in a desperate situation trying to take advantage of a mother and child in a vulnerable situation. Mum being mum realized what was about to happen and locked the doors. So no gun needed. Dread to think of the result if she hadn't been so savvy . Luckily I'm big and ugly now and have had the pleasure of being in some of the best and very worst places in the world luckily without to many incidents

I had a 2002 Audi A4. Did my shopping or whatever and went back to the car park.

Opened the door and got in. Looked around the car and thought something is off here. Sat there a few minutes, the car was a lot cleaner and just looked different.

Turned around and there was a baby seat in the back. Bear in mind I was still at uni and had no kids!.

Got out and realised from the reg the car was someone elses but exactly same car externally. But I was able to open it....

Proper wierd

A girl jumped in my car and sat on my lap when I was parked up waiting to pick my brother up. She swore she was 17 but looked 12. She'd obviously had a drink and I spent 10 minutes trying to get her to fk off out of the car. The police saw me parked up and put me in the back of their car to ask what I was doing, and how a girl in a pink cowboy hat ended up on my lap frown

A few years ago out in the wedge about 3pm, roof down nice day, approaching a busy T junction. I spotted 2 naked men. (yep you read that right)
When I stopped 3 cars back from the exit, these 2 naked guys ran over to my car and said "please give us a lift mate, we're on a stag do and have been stripped and left here"

Before I had a chance to stop laughing, they both climbed in, one sat on the others knee and naked buttocks on my cream leather passenger seatyikes.
"drop us off at witherspoons please mate, that's where all the others have gone" So I suggested it may be better if they went home for some clothes first.

"oh yeh, that would be good I suppose" was the reply laugh Strangest 5 miles I've ever driven
