Hi Peeps

Dave here saying hello and just wondering if anyone has a idea or who would like to fit a engine in my vectra which has just recently had its engine go bank then removed??

I was wondering if a 3.2 omega engine would go in it easily or a GSI vectra would work otherwise??

Any interest would be quite good as a beginner getting into track day car getting ready for ha!
Cheers for looking

many many things will fit, it depends on your skill with the spanners, grinders, welders and electrics to what you can put in.

3.2 omega mv6 lump will bolt up easily. Did one many years ago to a nice GSI Vectra I had and went really well.

Oh right sorry guys didn't realise I was in the wrong area.
Cheers for feedback though, I know that the GSI would go in well

Thanks

There is probably a Vauxhall section on here too, not sure how busy it is though.

What about a B234 out of a Saab? 2.3 turbo out a 9000 would be good for 400+bhp with the right turbo.

Well that's a good thought mate but I think that is probably too complicated for me at the mo. Think a GSI, chip it and stiffen the car up now it's all stripped but a front seat will do for now

Cheers

The GSI engine is basically the same as the original with different cams,I'd be looking for a 3.0 out of an omega personally.

Many years ago on a local forum, a chap had a 3.0 V6 (I think) from an Omega in his Vectra, it is doable.

GSI is just shy of 200bhp. 3.0 omega not much more and I'm sure the 2.5 will be easier to fit.

Cheers again for info

Was the car originally a 2.5 or have I picked you up wrong?

There is a big difference between the 2.5 and 3.0 as standard but with a few extras the 3.0 can make pretty decent power.

I had a 2.5 GSI and thought it was pathetic to be honest, should never have had a GSI badge IMO.

A Vectra with the 3.0 is the car Vauxhall should have made. They actually did but only about 3 or 4 I think.

They do make a nice noise though. Loved the V6 burble on the GSI I had.

I'm just worried that put a 3l in and it won't work properly because of ?????
Also not sure if the frontera or /Monterey engine is correct. Omega hard to find

2.5gsi seems loads more straight forward, yes it was a 2.5 sport, went well till I messed with the cams and broke it

Cheers
