Hi guys,

Went to a council-organised fireworks display last night (about half an hour from me), and on arrival the local car parks (all council) were jam packed as expected) and people were beginning to use the pretty much deserted council coach park for parking instead. This was about 6:15-6:30pm. I parked up, enjoyed the show (and spent a fair amount of money at the fair/iffy burger stall) and at the end walked back to the car. Get to the car only to find a PCN on the Window. Knew instantly "that'll teach me to park in a coach park, I bet everyone in here got one too" (about 80-100 cars) Looked round and I could see no other car with one.

The ticket was issued at 8:22pm
I arrived back at the car about 15-20 mins after this.

Now I know I technically shouldnt have parked in this car park, however there was no coaches around, everyone else was doing the same, and I deemed it the sensible alternative to what others were doing which were to park on double yellows and on the verges of very large, busy roundabouts. However none of these had a ticket (for parking more dangerously) and neither did anyone else in the coach park.

Do I have any grounds for appeal (ie proper one, performing FOI requests, research etc and be prepared to take to independant), or should I not waste my time and just do the first appeal (and try my best to lay it on thick the circumstances), and if I lose pay the amount?

Cheers

Council Carpark, to a Penalty Charge notice.

And the hours the CEOs are allow to patrol are something like 6am-10pm

The Ticket was essentially parking a vehicle that did not match the class of vehicle allowed in there (ie car in a coach park)

Take some photos of the PCN and post it on fightback forums. I've received many council tickets and they've helped me successfully appeal nearly all of them and saved me a fortune.
