I don't know how people get away without them but I gave my Citroen an obsessive compulsive standard clean inside yesterday (I even washed all the plastic bits, they were filthy) and treated it to a new air freshener.

This time I went for a California Scents tin with a coconut fragrance. It smells lovely. Well better than diesel and dying old car anyway.

I used to use Magic Trees, but could never decide which one was best. Black Ice was baffling and 'New Car Scent' - a mystery to many I guess. What are your favourites?

Never had a car that smells so never needed one. Bought some when I was young and just did it because everyone else did until I realised they all smell god awful.

The California Scents are good (Coronado 'Corrado' Cherry and the coconut ones are my favourites). They don't last that long, given the price of them. I'll stick to a green Magic Tree! For me the Black Ice one reminds me so much of my old Focus Ebony. I always had those in there!

I have the net sachets of Lavender that you place under the seats. Makes the car smell far nicer than a blast of Magic Tree. And the Lavender smell helps to tame The Vikingettes if they have an urge to boff from my spirited driving.

Yes, I don't buy stinking cars and I don't stink myself. Never used these vile smelling things.

It's all about the experience. I love the many scents of my car; hot exhaust, the smell of hot plastic when the heater warms up, the magic tree dangling off wherever I have decided to hang it. I've recently been trying these:

Well, not quite this but the same scent, only packaged in a little stick that clips into your air vent, meaning you can direct the delicious fragrance right at yourself. Top piece of kit, and very cost effective.

This thread has reminded me that my car would smell okay were it not for the well-used sweaty race wear on the back seat. Thanks to you lot I have just been out in the rain to remove it from the car and bring it indoors for treatment.

Many years ago I used to have a Poppy Coral and swap between the lemon & vanilla inserts. It used to get transferred whenever I got a new car smile

Just remembered my Focus RS still has it stuck to the dash since I last used the car 3 odd years ago - do they even make the refills for them any more?

Gliptone real leather, that's the one you want. They even do a large square one that suspends under your seat, wafts that lovely oiled leather scent for months and doesn't need to be seen either, neat!
