So on 31st July next year (2014) I am getting married down in Dorset. As the groom, my one task has been set: To find an exciting wedding car.

Being a petrol head, I would rather not go for the standard white Rolls or Bentley but for something a little more unique and exciting!

Does anyone have any suggestions? Or if you own anything exciting and fancy a drive down to Dorset on 31st July - let me know!

Aston rapide would be an obvious choice, what about vintage truck kenwood or similar, hard to say without more details as to what you are into, personally I would want a fleet of lotus's but that's what I like smile

Have to say, from a quick look, if you don't find something in that lot you probably won't find it anywhere else!

Be careful though, if you're a real car buff, some of the 'replicas' aren't all that accurate. On the Herbie one for instance, they list three cars. One has the wrong sunroof!

I've hired cars for both sisters weddings.

One was a split window VW camper, the other a 60s Cadillac; both went down very well!

The Aston Martin Rapide is my favourite suggestion so far... Does anyone have one I can borrow!?

We had this:

I wasn't in it on the way to the ceremony, but the wife tells me people stopped at traffic lights to take pictures of it.

I would be willing to cover petrol and costs. The car would be needed for two journeys. 1st from the hotel to the ceremony, the. 2nd from the ceremony to the reception. In total no more than 10 miles 'on the job'

Make sure you go see one first and try sitting in the back. Then put a wedding dress on and try sitting in the back again! Not so easy, is it?! Be careful the Rapide is not as roomy as you would want and your bride may prefer something a bit bigger to get the dress in.

You haven't looked at the typical price of hiring a wedding car yet, have you.....

Perhaps he has, and that's why he's on the blag!

A friends wedding last year. The groom hired a Corvette Stingray for the Groom and Bestman to get to the venue. The Bride was driven in her fathers 1960 Beetle Convertible.

Spot on! I do have a budget of upto £250... But would rather not go for the traditional approach!
