I was just idly browsing Brabus E V12 7.3s in the classifieds wink and this came up in the 'Similarly Priced' box.
How much do you think a new Land Cruiser costs these days? £25k? Maybe £30k?

Like this:

Nope... £64,000! Sixty-four thousand pounds! wobblewobble

Clicky

There are a couple of others around the same price too.

So here's your challenge - can you find a more surprisingly expensive car in the classifieds?

That is expensive but anything of that ilk is in that ball park, think we regard the Land Cruiser as old and Utilitarian, a bit United Nations but I beleive they are very capable and last for ever, an RR Sport is obviously more modern, more powerful, blingier but costs around the same, so does a Cayenne or any other big, luxurious SUV.

^ What he said, try specing up a range rover or Merc GL, cost a lot more than that.

I started to wonder how little I would have to pay for a fast road car if I was willing to forgo build quality and all luxuries. Checked out Ginetta.

Turns out you're still paying between 40-70k and might as well just be buying a Lotus or a Porsche.

The A1 Quattro and Fiat 500 Abarth SS (or some special edition) spring to mind; I think both were around £40k!

Some might also say North of £50k is a bit much for a van too... ;-)

I'm sure it's marvellous, with its huge engine and all, but it's still perilously close to £150k for a Defender...

Apples and Oranges. The Ginetta is a very low volume car even compared to the Lotus. Porsche don't hand assemble their cars either.

I've never understood the Brabus or AMG G-Class, they are ridiculous money for what essentially is a posh defender.
