How often do you check your tyre pressures?

From what I gather, most people don't even consider it until the car is riding on the rims.

-And, if you do keep your tyres inflated, do you just use the pressures suggested in the manual for the original tyres or different?

Weekly, unless something feels wrong, and suggested pressures unless tyre wear is suggesting differently.

Every week on all three vehicles. I think that's best, don't you?

If the car obviously pulling left or right, visually down or bit wiggly on braking I'll check. Otherwise every couple of months..

I see lots of cars riding around with obviously flat tyres, mostly Mercs, old Nissans and BMWs.

I feel a visual check of the tyres on a daily basis is adequate. If things don't look right then the foot pump comes out of the boot for a quick check of the tyre causing concern (though I usually do all the tyres once the pump is out).

Before every long journey, whenever I suspect something's up, whenever the trailer gets hitched/unhitched.

ETA: Oh, and I glance at them most days.

Visually, all 4, every day (on the car and van). Actual pressures, before a long journey in the car or when something doesn't feel right in the van.

Visual check before every drive (so twice a day on normal commuting trips).

Check the actual pressure weekly when I fill up with fuel.

Also if something feels odd or heavy/more tram lining than what I'm used to I'd check just incase I've picked up a slow puncture or leaking valve.

Takes seconds daily and a minute weekly - no burden at all.

I use the manufacturer figure as a guide and work either side of that depending on what feels best for the tyres. Seems Yoko's I often need to run slightly lower, Goodyears a bit higher and the winter Conti's I also run a bit higher.

I'm a wee bit picky about tyre pressures though.

Both the Monaro and A3 have TPMS but visually every time I drive them and weekly with a digital pressure gauge. The RX8 is checked everytime I drive it as one wheel has a habit of lossing pressure rolleyes
