Pure Driving Experiences: North York Moors
Our latest Dunlop vid sees a brand-new British sports car on some familiar British roads
A rather different Dunlop video this month. It doesn't feature any words. It's simply three minutes of glorious wail from the Radical RXC's 3.7-litre V6 engine, plus the obligatory backing music.
It actually seems quite apt give the empty moorland roads the video has been filmed at. We experienced the North York Moors during our Dream Drive the recently and they are rather desolate. The eeriness of the surroundings lends itself to well to the muted presentation.
The Radical, predictably, looks right at home on these roads, its 380hp and 320lb ft giving the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres a workout. In fact, we should probably go back! Though given how gloomy it looks in the video, maybe we'll save it for 2014.
And if this video isn't to your taste, the next video searching for a Pure Driving Experience will feature a 911 GT3...

I imagine it to be a case of the car constantly grounding out and skipping around the place and being something akin to riding a bull??
However, still a great looking and sounding car - I kind of imagine that if you won the lottery whilst away on Le Mans weekend, this is the first thing you would order when you got back on Monday.

The main trouble with the Blakey Road is that it isn't well enough surfaced for something extreme like a Radical, and, as mentioned, the sheep. Whenever you clout one it is never the mangey old sheep you think it is, it's always a Great Yorkshire Show best in class winner

Nice video, but does look like you have to get up bloody early to enjoy the roads gommo free and also that a trip to the dentist to re-fit loosened fillings probably followed this.
I would imagine it is the kind of car that has people shaking their fists at you when you are out in it. Just driving it around, people will assume you are a hooligan out to do 150mph in a 40mph zone and that you are clearly not Thinking of The Children.
Which, after a while, may get quite annoying.
