Mk1 Mazda3 MPS aero kit or not?

Hi guys,

Im in the market for a Mk1 3MPS. I've seen one I really like, red and extremely low miles. Only thing is though, it isn't an aero model.

I think I'd probably be lowering it no matter what I got, so will I miss the aero kit? Should I wait and find another one which has it or is it not that important?

Aero is just a little bit lower and has different wing mirrors.

If you're planning on lowering it anyway, then it makes no difference which you get. The Aero is only 5mm lower at the rear and 10mm at the front anyway, but the ride is far better on the non Aero car as standard (the spring rates are to high on the Aero) and you can achieve a far better ride on after market suspension

If you definitely want the Aero rear spoiler, then don't buy a non Aero car thinking you can just get a spoiler and fit it - they had different tailgates to account for different mounting points. Don't worry about the Aero mirrors though, they're pants anyway

Given the choice, I'd buy the Aero, swap the mirrors and then put it on aftermarket suspension, but only because I personally like the bigger rear spoiler - that said, it's definitely slightly more sleeperish with the standard spoiler, because most people think they are just 2.0 sport

I prefer the big spoiler and the areo mirrors - although you can't see much out of them !

I bought one last year and waited for the right spec to come along : Aero model and also one of the very last MkI with the different interior !
