Hello everyone,

With christmas coming up and the possibility of getting a bit of money, I was thinking what would be the best way to spend around £1000 on a car?

something a bit different that when you got in it, had a bit of a sense of occasion, something fun, not your usual every day car.

i was thinking something like an old porsche, and old jeep for a bit of off roading, any other ideas ??

thanks !

Porsche 924.

Rover 200 BRM.

Any number of older BMWs.

None will be immaculate or 100% reliable but there's plenty of fun out there for a bag.

I suppose they're pretty common now but a MK1 MX-5? BMW E36 Coupe?

Are you still going to be using it as a car or is this purely as a secondary car to a daily?

solely a second car, i currently have an 08 alfa spider, but this is going and getting a VW CC company car, so wanted something cheap and different as i think i may get a bit bored of a cc.

Not different at all, but you really should give a Ford Puma a go. It made me start to enjoy driving again!

Yep. Just watch for rust and make sure it doesn't clonk too badly. Nifty, capable yet different off roader.
