is it just me?
Discussion
whenever I look through the classified on ph or autotrader(website, iphone app or the mag) each time theres always something in there that I really want. the cars I really would love to own are, ford focus RS, Fiesta ST (current generation) Ginetta G40R Lotus Elise S2 (doesnt matter which one) Mazda MX5 (owned one previously) Mercedes C63 AMG Renault Clio RS 200 Cup (last generation not current) VW golf GTI/R32 I could be here all day listing what I really want to own. I currently have finance on a Renault Twingo 133 RS which I've owned for a year now and its a great car to drive but its not something I would go on a sunday drive on the country roads. I really want rid of it but I know now it would be a pain in the arse to do so but one can only dream.
so is it just me that each day there's always something else I want to own or am I mad? lol

Yes, I guess it is normal. I am not so old but I have been obsessed with cars since I can remember, so almost 30 years, and this also got worse becasue there are always more appealing cars to buy. With some attention cars 30 years old can be found and ran with not great effort and they can still deliver a lot of fun. I mean, I still desire many cars I wanted before and now many others.

when I got one of the dream cars I listed, I was over the moon with it but always in the back of my head I always wanted something else for another occasion and so on and so forth so I better start playing the lottery for that to happenJPatkinson18 said:

I would regard you as either slightly odd or a non-petrolhead if you thought otherwise. I find that as I get older my bucket list gets longer, but presumably I will have less time left to work through it. Or is that just me?

I have been called alot worse than that, I'm only 24 and I know intime my bucket list will be larger than it already is.
(It's just a joke!)

That's why becaue in recent years I try harder to appreciate some cars I desire asking test drives at dealers and even hiring. I also have to thank some wealthier petrolhead friend. Hiring sportscars is expensive and so I generally wanted to avoid it saving for a purchase but sometime is easier and simply worth the money. It is not like owning a car obviously, that is a lot more deep relationship...
I can look through most classifieds and be filled with minor want. Which I can deal with.
But every so often I am filled with full-blown WANT. This can involve massive expense, neglect of loved ones and driving the length of the British Isles at short notice. I know it's destructive but every week I push my luck

Im really happy with my car and i have been for close to 6 years, it still makes me smile and is very fun to drive... yet...
When someone on PH mentions a car or i see a what car and a few models mentioned its straight to ebay etc to look at how much they go for !
Agreed!!! "Look at the shiny shiny!"When someone on PH mentions a car or i see a what car and a few models mentioned its straight to ebay etc to look at how much they go for !

Have no need for another car, but know in the not too distant future i will be replacing one eventually, but cant help when someone mentions a model, scouring the ads/Ebay etc then collating a massive watchlist on cars i have no need for right now! (And more than likely will have changed my mind in less than 24hrs to another manny fagnet!)

Seriously? That's what those cars were made for and where they really shine.133's are rare, cooler than a polar bears toe-nails and a riot to drive.
