Can anyone recommend any insurance companies for insuring something along the lines of a Saab 900 T16, Mk2 Golf GTi or 205 GTi.
I've struggled to get reasonable quotes in the past on a 900 turbo with Footman James as the car won't be garaged, it would be parked on the road.

I have my 205 GTi insured through greenlight for £150 on a classic policy with a limited 3k annual miles.

They do good deals through the 205gtidrivers forum as do Adrian Flux I believe.

Definitely worth trying Greenlight & Need To Insure.

I used Greenlight last year for my 205 GTI on a classic policy with limited mileage, agreed value, etc, etc, and cost was very reasonable smile Only changed to Need To Insure for this year as they came in with a sub £200 quote.

Give RH Insurance a call - http://www.rhclassicinsurance.co.uk

They were cheapest for my MX5 although that is garaged. I would imagine most classic insurers are going to prefer the car to be off the road at night.

I'll second Need 2 Insure, very helpful chaps. Classic Line managed to get me a much cheaper quote fire the last couple of years though and they've been pretty flexible.

RH cover my Mk2 Golf gti for £95 a year, but it is garaged.

Lancaster covered an old Merc for me a few years back and didn't insist on garaging - maybe give them a try.

RH insured my Mk2 golf for £55 for the year best insurance I have ever had.

They did crack me up on the phone after asking me if I had driven anything with that sort of power before. When I replied that my other car was a Tuscan they came back with the £55
