As title. My 54 plate Astra steams up real bad.
So much so that this morning, the inside of the windows were frozen.

The carpets are dry and windows etc don't leak.

Any ideas? It's bloody annoying!

Try cleaning out the rain channels - they can get blocked with leaves. Also, replace the pollen filter (accessible by removing the inside of the glovebox). The latter is a fiddly job but doable and won't cost much.

Does the Astra have air-con?

If so, do you use it? Does it work?

Heater matrix could be on the way out?

Look in your spare wheel well. There may be a small puddle in it. That'll be enough to steam things up - I've had it with Vauxhalls before, where the boot seal/light seals perish. Just drill a hole in the floor of the wheel well and all is cured.

Check all round the scuttle for leaves and crud. They block the drain holes and then water can't escape.
Check all door and boot seals. You'll be getting water in somewhere.

In the meantime, if it's a nice day park it up with the windows cracked open and see if you can get some air moving through it.

Just one other thing - check you haven't got the 'recirculate' setting on all the time on your heater.
