That's a couple of orders with the correct parts and next day delivery (UPS no less) even when not paid for. Has anyone else experienced this strange phenomenon or is it just me?

I have used ecps for years and he delivery time is a lot quicker, yes, the service is still as good as it has always been, very good.

I tried various motor factors to get rear discs for my 130i. Tried two different online vendors and one whose initials are the same as Grove Street Families.

They all gave me discs for a 3 series which don't fit.

Then out of desperation I went to Euro Car Parts, and they had the right ones! I was definitely surprised at this.

Euro car parts is excellent, as long as you treat them like its some sort of care in the community operation.

Respect them and play along, smile, make small talk but double check everything they do.

I have used them a lot in the past but gave up when I received comedy service when I dared to return a faulty item to a store. I am now back to using a local factor as the prices are the same and its staffed by people who know what they are talking about.

Never had trouble with them but I always go and collect my parts rather than having them delivered. Ordered once from "Carparts4less" who are owned by ECP and usually slightly cheaper - they delivered via Yodel rather than the promised UPS and a couple of days late at that.

I've only ever used their collection service and while my local motor factor is good and decent value the ECP staff were a lot less arrogant about the fact that some customers aren't as technically knowledgeable as a mechanic would be.

I had to tell my local motor factor reasons why the discs they'd supplied weren't the ones they were supposed to, referencing their own catalogue they had in front of them!

I'm sure you won't be the first. I was once told by a guy at National tyres my car didn't have the engine I thought because his catalogue didn't list it and every car ever was in it.

I guess the difference was the grumpy response to questions when I'm uncertain in the local place was what I got used to. The chap in ECP came out to the car and double checked I'd ordered the right discs then rather than me have to make two trips with the stuff I picked up he carried half of it out for me, very small and insignificant things make a huge difference when choosing where to buy something and based on the couple of times I've been back I'd use ECP even if they were a few £ more.

Things like that do make a big difference - a motor factors I regularly used when I lived near Stirling was excellent for the little things, double checking parts were right, offering to carry them to the car - even offering to change wiper blades, for free, when it was pissing down with rain and I was dressed in a suit for work so that I didn't get wet/dirty!
