Hi all

As per title, my focus wouldn't start today (not even turning over) using the non-remote key although the ignition would come on.

I left it about 40 mins and used the remote key and it started although there was a 1 or 2 second delay between turning the key and it sluggishly fired up.

I originally though it was the starter motor but now I'm thinking it's either the key (immobilisor transponder) but also the battery is on the way out.

Anyone else got any ideas? Thanks

Bill

Possible just the battery's tired and a bit of heat from the sun after the cold got it to the point it could turn the starter.

My thoughts also.

Other possibility - how recently was it last serviced - plugs?

My mothers 1.6 had a similar issue, turned out the fuel pump had gone unfortunately, was a pain in the ass. Was mainly low on power whilst driving but then eventually wouldn't turn over.
