Possibly revealing an entire world of ignorance here, but...

I noticed this on a comparison site and am curious as to how this works- is it specifically for contract workers who are all over the country, or can it apply to anyone?

In my case, my family address is in Scotland, whilst I jump from one central London hole of a flat to another whilst I work down here. A car in central London must be masochistic, and is a moot point for me as I have nowhere nearby to park one anyway. But I miss driving even more than I miss living in a nice affordable building and would love to have something to go for a blast in.

Is it possible for me to buy a car, park it on a street somewhere not a million miles away from a train/tube station and thus have a weekend getaway vehicle insured as kept Away from Home?

Sorry if this I'm asking the obvious here! rotate

My motorcycles are garaged away from home. Just had to give the postcode where they are kept. Just speak to an insurance company and explain the situation.

Id presumed that it was for cars stored off your home psotcode, perhaps at a separate lock up garage.
