Hi
Am trying to find a new stereo but not having much luck.
Need to have Full size SD card support (not micro SD which seems to have taken over) along with USB Key support. EDIT to Add, and also CD player as well.

Single Din, and budget of upto £200.

Being Used in my Fabia SDI shed so not expecting amazing quality, just be loud enough to drown the diesel clatter.

Anyone got any recomendations ?

Andy :-)

Watching this with interest as I fancy treating myself. I've am elderly Kenwood head unit at the moment, do you think a Pioneer would plug straight in?

I don't think I would use the USB/CD/Bluetooth much and just stick to SD cards or maybe and ipod.

Thanks for the reply Paul, Sorry should have added I need CD as well.

The reason for the formats is as follows,
I have lots of Nursery Rhymes/kids books for my Daughter on SD Card that goes from car to computer to TV to Net Book.

I have all my Music and Audiobooks on USB keys, but we still listen to many CDS from friends who are muscians. We regularly drive to Holland to see my Wifes friends and family, so 13 hours journeys are fairly common, and the ability to just simply with a press of a button to go to Kids Stuff on SD/Adults Stuff on USB / CD for music is really useful.

Hope that all makes sense.

Andy :-)

I picked up a Pioneer DEH-X8500BT which has 2 USB, Bluetooth, SD card, and CD inputs. The design im not the most impressed compared to my old high spec alpine units but for compatibility at the time it couldn't really be bettered.

Cheers Architect.
Getting closer I think :-) But according to amazon the USB is at the rear.

Is that correct ? On yours can you just add a USB key to the front ?

I must admit I been searching for ages, and its seems that know they all seem to be Bluetooth / Ipod connectivity etc rather than the SD card and USB that was around a few years ago. Edit to add, its seems that often the Amazon description can be wrong, lots list SD card but either dont have it at all or they mean micro SD.

I have this setup in a SEAT Alhambra that works really well, but its a lease car thats going back soon hence the search for a new stereo for the Fabia.

Anyone else got any recommendations ?

Cheers

Andy

If the USB is in the back, but you like the rest of the unit, it may be worth plugging a USB extension lead i the back an feed it up to the glovebox, or somewhere.

Missed that requirement, however yes you can use a usb extension from the back of the unit as suggested above, only the SD slot is on the front behind the fascia. You can also stream music via bluetooth from your phone.
