Just about sums up my week, but happy ending.

Time to put the winters on.
drivers side front and rear done. Shuffle the car and start doing the passenger side. Security bolt remover disintegrates.
Great. So now I have 20 inch wheels on one side, and 19's on the other!
I call Barons BMW, parts has closed but the parts manager waits for me to drive over (slowly - cant be a great dynamic setup!).
When I get there he uses one from their master set to loosen mine off, and then gives it to me saying he'll swap mine under warranty as if it were theirs. Top man and helped me out of a pickle.
Now. Where is the snow!?

I once drove my 993 with 3 16" wheel and an 18" and the other 16" wheel on the passenger seat. Even with roads I couldn't tell the difference from behind the wheel, but then I didn't drive about 50mph.
The journey home was far more interesting. 4 brand new Bridgestones, air temp of 3c and torrential rain.

Dont worry, because if it snows, you wont be going anywhere in it anyway.

Well last year on these wheels in pretty horrendous conditions it was easy peasy. No problems at all, even on an untreated steep lane with a good few inches of snow. I was able to drive up when even some Discos were struggling on summer rubber. I trip to Eastern europe will show you people in all sorts of rear wheel drive cars having no problem because they put the right tyres on.. (but lets not turn this thread into a debate abut that - there is already a chunky debate about that in the winter tyre thread.)
More of a thumbs up for Barons Hindhead going above and beyond really.
I had the same, but mine was on the last blinking wheel to be done. Made a mental note to myself to always personally remove and replace the locking wheel nuts whenever a garage has my car. They often over tighten them so these problems happen. They really only need bare minimum of torque on them.
