Looking for some advice, I've recently purchased a 2008 335d, after looking through the forum, etc.. I'm a tad worried about it going missing... Does anyone have any recommendations with regards to putting on a better alarm and also adding a tracker?

I've seen a couple, one of which is a remote start type alarm which can be used in conjunction with my iPhone, this supplied/fitted by Clifford, I'm open to suggestions and any advice is always appreciated?

Cheers,

Matty

I can only give you my experience with a tracker that was installed in my 911 by a company that was co-incidentally also called 'Tracker...'

I had a gearbox failure on the car, so I arranged a flatbed recovery truck to take the car to a repair centre.

We loaded the car onto the truck, and off the driver went.

As he drove away, I guess the car was now moving but not under it's own steam, and without the key in the ignition.

Within minutes of it moving, my landline and mobile phones lit up with calls and texts from Tracker, asking me if my car was secure and to call them immediately. I then did answer one of their calls, to which an extremely concerned chap asked me to check the location and security of my car as soon as possible, because their system had detected an 'unauthorised movement.'

I was impressed, anyway!

Yes. Or leave one of these in it,

Trackers don't stop cars getting stolen, just increase the chances of recovering the car once it's gone, as the post above explains.
