Hey guys,

Did a couple of insurance quotes last week that came out around the £800 mark (22 years old, 2 Years NCB, 2 convictions). However, at this point I didn't know my renewal date.

Since my renewal has come through, I've now adjusted it to the correct date, and all of a sudden the cheapest price is no £1,120. No other details on my quote changed.

I even tried re-doing the quote from a brand new browser (I've heard about cookies being used to modify prices), and also tried using a brand new email address, but the price was the same.

I've had it suggested to me that it's because my renewal is in just under a month's time, but when I did my previous quote, that was also for under a months time from that date.

Any ideas why? Or is this just insurance companies being wkers?

I was pleasantly surprised by my renewal price this year. I even made it £15 less by putting my new job in. Working in an office rather than a shop presumably makes me slightly less of a maniac.

I have a suspicion that the closer to the start date you get the quote, the higher the quote.
I guess the earlier you get the quote the less hectic your life is, or something statistical like that.

If you got a quote a couple of weeks ago, it'll still be valid. Contact whoever you got the quote from.
