Anyone else noticed the increased traffic nightmare that is happening over here? Massive holdups most days, some horrendous problems and many more accidents. It's even affecting the bike commute times. I'm dreading bad weather.

It's the same in most places around London. Roadworks on the M25 and major roads at various points displacing traffic to local roads. More housing, more people and more business activity.

Next someone will post up a picture of their daily commute in Scotland without a car in sight....

Yep, I'm glad I've escaped the rat-race after 10 years of putting up with that nonsense. However, on one of my occasional visits last weekend/Monday I end up having to navigate some never before travelled roads up through Hampton because of a vehicle fire around J.9 of the M25. As noted above, the M25 seems as much of a hindrance than a help on some days.

At the moment, the team I work with are in discussion with higher management over efficiency.

Basically, they presented some figures that suggested our colleagues in Scotland were slightly more efficient than us, and if we were able to hit the same figure, there would be an instant increase in revenue to the company of 1.6million..

Great, says I, but to get to this meeting (In London) the 41 miles have taken just over 2 hours and it turned out that it took me almost three to get home, and I suggested that in any other area in the country, the 41 miles may take an hour.

So yes, London IMO is a nightmare for driving in, but I need to do it as part of my JOB and we need to have the car with us due to the equipment we need.
