Private Number Plate Retention

Am putting my private plate on retention and have a quick query. Have received back the V5 and also the retention certificate but not received a new tax disc. Thought this would have come with either the V5 or retention certificate. Is it normally sent seperately to the other document?

tax discs & MOT certificate are nowadays coming after the V5C due to the way Swansea is operating.
