With the recent ramblings from Brake and the speed kills brigade i have felt an urge to try and stop us from turning back the clock to 1865!

Does any one have a unique idea for a pro speed charity?

Should it even be pro speed? Or go along the same lines a Brake and offer "Safety" campaigns?

In short, i want to create an organization that is...

Pro...

Speed
Training
Common sense
Cars
Bikes

Against...

Slowing down the roads
Removing intelligence from decisions / policing
Making a "Fine" the normal deterrent

Any bright ideas on how to go about it and get noticed ?

Sadly you wont ever stop it.

People who are against something will always shout louder than those who are for something, thats just the way it is. The majority of people are fine with motoring laws the way they are but that minority wont shut up. Ever.

Also, I'm not saying its wrong to be in that minority, everyone is entitled to their opinion, providing everything they produce/advertise on the matter is factual and not based on bigoted misconceptions.

The Crack Fox said:
1865 was brill. There were no speed limits at all back then.
The 1865 act required all road locomotives, which included automobiles, to travel at a maximum of 4 mph (6 km/h) in the country and 2 mph (3 km/h) in towns and have a crew of three travel, one of whom should carry a red flag walking 60 yards (55 m) ahead of each vehicle.

Who in their right mind would want to be associated with a 'pro-speed' organisation? (I'm talking of course about businesses/corporate sponsors here, not individual drivers).

A focus on speed is a path to disaster. Speed is merely a product of smooth, fluid driving.
