Went to look at a Fiat Coupe 20vt earlier, tbh I knew that it probably wasn't 'the one' but it's handy to look anyway.

Firstly we arranged to meet a 3pm, I called him when I got there and he said 'I'll be there in 5 minutes mate' 45 minutes later he drove past me in the car, on his way to get petrol.

He got back then escorted me to his yard.

First thing I checked was the tyres, one of them was at the tread markers. and the others were not too far off. 'That tyre wants doing very soon' I mentioned.

'Oh mate it went through an mot 2 months ago with no advisories it's fine' he cheekily replied.

That's a bit fishy I thought.

He advertised it as an LE and refused to accept that it wasn't.

I asked him 'does it ever emit blue smoke at any time?'

'Ah you know mate all cars smoke a bit' I found this quite funny and it utterly clarified that I was not going to being buying it.

I took it for a drive anyway, he made a big deal about it having the clutch done very recently, Which made it all the more chuckle-worthy when I booted it in 2nd gear and the clutched just slipped and we didn't accelerate. It did it in 3rd gear as well.

He then tried to tell me that it was just wheelspin.

Big shame really because I think the clutch had just been done, just not very well.
Aside from a horrific vinyl wrapped bootlid and ghastly 'bangtidy' vinyl script on one side, it seemed like a decent motor. He's asking 2000 for it and its going to take one colossal moron to buy it as it is at that price.

Link here if anyone is interested!

Whats a Full VOSA MOT printout?

You mean it has an MOT.....obviously not much good to say about the car, so felt the need to write extra guff to make the advert bigger.

The Matt boot and sticker would have been enough to know the owner was a tbh.

Does it say "Bangtidy!" on the front wing?

What was he thinking?

I've seen that advert a few times. It's the first time I've noticed that group of four people stood in the car park in the distance. I think they're saying 'Turbo seals gone, exhaust manifold ticking, clutch slipping but at least it doesn't have those chrome rings on the dash like some British Leyland dross from the 70s'.

He's a dealer, that claims he got it from auction for personal use 3 or 4 months ago.

Things don't add up, He's put 250bhp in the ad.(217/220bhp standard) Yet when I questioned what had been done to the engine he said 'I don't know, it is what is infront of you'

It's the only LE they made in green. That has to make it worth £2K of anynone's money.

It's got a rear fog light. Wonder why he doesn't list everything else it must have by law. No mention of seat belts, handbrake, indicators. Did you check to see if they were present?
