My current car's finance term is coming to an end, with only 4 payments left, so I want to start thinking about my options.

I would love a new car, as I have had this one for 4 years and have become rather bored of it. It has been a great car for the past 4 years, and has served me very well. The way I see it is I have 3 realistic options:

Finance a new car, which means either trading in or selling my current car.

Selling my current car and buying a car with that money.

Keep my current car for a while longer.

Therefore I am asking two questions, first of all what option would you take? Secondly what car's would you recommend replacing with? The current car is a Ford Fiesta Zetec S, and would be worth around £3000, and I would have a budget of around £10,000 to play with. I don't really have any set requirements for a different car which is why I can't put my finger on what to get, albeit I like the idea of a Golf R32.

No idea your full situation, but sounds like you're at a similar stage to me.

Depending on what your monthly payments are, will also affect the cost to change if you've not factored this in - ie if your payments are £200 a month, you've got £800 outstanding and have £2200 of value in your current car (taking your figures)

Myself i have 8 months left, this equates to £1400 and makes quite a difference to looking at the costs based on having zero left to pay.

Get a new Fiesta ST and trade in your car? Lots of good finance deals around at the moment.

No one question to ask yourself is how much you can afford each month, then work out how much you have to play with.

Once you've done that apply man maths equation and get a V8.

Finance payments are currently £164 per month, which means overall I only have £656 left to pay.

I know I want a new car, its just I have no idea what it is I actually want, and having no real requirements for a car the options are almost limitless (money permitting). I just want something that is going to interest me on a daily basis.
